Sr Specialist - Organizational Excellence
Summary: Provide support of the company’s Organizational Excellence (OE) program through the promotion of continuous improvement initiatives geared towards the prevention and mitigation of unwanted events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as a project manager for OE continuous improvement projects. This will involve working closely with other internal Operations Services and Operations team members. Projects are typically identified as a result of incident investigations, OE Element Teams, audits/inspections, or through improvement initiatives defined by Operations.
- Track investigation and post investigation action plan progress. This will include the writing and presentation of reports to SVPs/VPs on a scheduled basis. Participate in serious investigations when requested.
- Support OE Element Teams including: (1) Risk Management, (2) Incident Investigation/Evaluations/Lessons Learned, and (3) Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Support Power BI reporting for programs supported by the EO/Safety group.
- Monitor progress with API-RP-1173 by supporting the annual update of our OE Policy and reviewing program conformance.
Required Skills:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High school degree or equivalent
- 8+ years of related experience
- Familiarity with Management Systems (working knowledge of API-RP-1173)
- Project management experience
- Excellent and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a professional and courteous attitude
- Demonstrated customer focused solution provider.
- Computer skills: office applications, familiarity with Power BI
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with a variety of individuals throughout the company.
- Proven ability and experience in exercising good judgment and discretion in handling confidential materials and matters.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple demands; and prioritize workloads; establish and maintain positive, cooperative, and productive working relationships.
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills. Be able to present and defend a point of view.
- Ability to relate information from a multitude of sources.
- Capabilities to turn theoretical information into practical applications.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelors of Science or Engineering degree
- Pipeline technical experience
