Summary : Industrial Hygiene Program Owner - Ensures compliance to Industrial Hygiene requirements and ET requirements. Develops and administers Industrial Hygiene initiatives, improvement ideas, and training. Continuously assesses Industrial Hygiene Systems, reviews results, and implements measures to close the gaps. Owns the Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conversation, Asbestos Notifications, Radiation Safety Officer, Heat Stress Management, PPE Selection and Approval, and Respiratory Protection programs and provides support in Occupational Safety Management.

Essential Duties &Responsibilities:

  • Ensures work conditions are safe and all units are equipped with the necessary protection equipment and are following procedures
  • Ensures compliance to Industrial Hygiene requirements by relevant authority and ET requirements
  • Develops and administers Industrial Hygiene initiatives and improvement ideas
  • Continuously assesses Industrial Hygiene Systems, reviews results, and implements measures to close the gaps
  • Shares Industrial Hygiene learnings across the company and incorporates them into existing systems
  • Reviews new chemical request/approvals to assure risk are properly considered and mitigated
  • Reviews leading indicators and identifies areas of risk
  • Performs field assessments such as Exposure Assessments, Noise Surveys, NORM Surveys, and Risk Assessments.
  • Administrative program owner for Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conversation, Asbestos Notifications, Radiation Safety Officer, Heat Stress Management, PPE Selection and Approval, and Respiratory Protection
  • Provides support in Occupational Safety Management and knowledgeable in OSHA regulations to ensure compliance
  • Conducts field audits, risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Ensures safe work practices are being implemented in the field. Trains field safety reps on how to conduct sampling surveys and input into the companies database.

 

Requirements:  Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements for this position are listed below.  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial technology, or related study or additional equivalent experience.
  • CIH/CSP certified preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in Industrial Hygiene
  • Ability to create or develop IH and safety procedures and training materials
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Houston, Texas based job
  • Travel requirements 50%
