Summary:
Responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing training programs of health, safety and company operation programs in compliance with federal, state, local, and other applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties generally consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct Health, Safety and Operations training.
- Present and document all required Safety training. (i.e. New Hire Orientation, Emergency Action Planning, Safety Training, etc.)
- Prepare and provide monthly Safety Meeting training material.
- Assist with implementing and training of company Operation Procedures.
- Provide technical input, recommendations, and decisions that promote safety.
- Establish the schedule, provide material, create the testing materials, maintain database, and run reports.
- Recommend corrective actions and implement measures to reduce adverse impact.
- Assist with training and implementing compliance audits.
- Attend in-house and outside training sessions.
- Learn policies and procedures, work instruction, Safety Rules and Regulations, and Incident Management System.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements - Educational and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of training experience.
- Attend OSHA training as required.
- Assist with creating a safe work environment by utilizing risk analysis, job hazard analysis, and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulatory requirements of North America.
- Ability to implement and train compliance training and procedures.
- Ability to interface effectively and influence decisions.
- Awareness of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking for large and small groups.
- Good organization skills.
- Must be dependable, responsible and self-motivated.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Experience in evaluating and researching training options and alternatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft and Excel.
- Ability to travel.
- Team player / collaborative.
Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- 25%-50% travel required. .
- Occasional visits to process plants, compressor stations, and pipeline settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, which require appropriate personal protective equipment.
