Specialist - NGL Commercial Ops
Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for day-to-day commercial operations of ET GC NGL assets, primarily the Refinery Services assets in South Louisiana and finished NGLs in Oklahoma, with an emphasis on optimization of asset throughput and profitability. This position is self-directed but will work closely with the Director and operations organization to plan and execute operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage primary supply and offtake relationships through both normal operations and abnormal events
- Purchase raw mixes for the fractionator and RGP splitter, on both term and spot bases
- Sell products on a spot basis as needed
- Ensure purchases and sales are properly documented and communicated to the operations, accounting, and measurement organizations
- Provide timely nominations of receipts and production for railcar service providers, pipeline transportation providers, and customers
- Work with Operations to plan outages in a way that minimizes impact to Energy Transfer and its suppliers and customers
- Monitor facility inventories and balance shipments to flatten position swings
- Work with transportation companies and internal teams to ensure terminal access requirements are met
- Monitor pricing components and market conditions to adjust rack pricing as necessary
Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or additional equivalent experience.
- 2 - 5 years experience in the energy industry
- Aptitude for NGL/Refined Products business including supply, trading, logistics and operations.
- Self-starter, capable of thinking outside of the box. Willing to positively challenge peers as well as be challenged by peers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a team player and positively represent Energy Transfer to customers and counterparties.
- Personal attributes including strategic decision making, creative thinking, project and economic analysis.
Software Knowledge:
- Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power Point
- Google Earth knowledge a plus
Working conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
