Lead Analyst - Rates
A lead analyst in the Interstate Cost of Service group that supports natural gas facilities by compiling and analyzing financial and statistical data related to service levels, plant facilities, depreciation, operation and maintenance expense, taxes, and financial returns for use as exhibits in filings and hearings before the FERC and other regulatory agencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly analysis of financial activity on interstate companies in order to ensure compliance with relevant FERC, accounting, and tax regulations, and communicate to management effectively as needed on information that impacts ratemaking
- Prepare schedules as needed for monthly activity on interstate companies to support ratemaking
- Support rate case filings on interstate companies, including schedule and testimony preparation and response to data requests that may be required with short turnaround
- Participate in and assist with settlement negotiations with FERC staff and other parties in rate proceedings
- Communicate with various functional areas of the company to coordinate data and resources as needed
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- 8+ years relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or similar discipline.
- Equivalent experience and demonstrated equivalent competency may supplant the bachelor’s degree
- Exhibit strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, ability to apply judgment, and professionally challenge and question activity and assumptions. Ability to coordinate with and support both internal and external customers. Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
