Summary:
Project Management Position, managing multiple capital projects from conceptual stage to completion, for pipeline, pipeline facility, and terminal projects. Direct efforts of the project team through all stages, including 3rd party engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning. Effectively plan and manage projects to ensure schedules and budgets are maintained while meeting stakeholder’s expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee detailed design, typically conducted by 3rd party engineering firms.
• Coordinate project procurement and pre-fabrication in conjunction with Procurement group.
• Bid and contract field construction in conjunction with Service Contract group.
• Oversee project construction, conducted by 3rd party contractors, utilizing 3rd party construction management and inspection groups for oversight and documentation.
• Coordinate and collaborate with company operations personnel, as well as outside vendors and contractors for project implementation/commissioning.
• Ability to interpret and apply design codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a larger Team.
• Ability to work with and manage relationships with local/state/federal agencies.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering discipline and 3 years of experience.
- Minimum three years related experience in pipeline, terminal, refinery, or chemical facility environment.
- Liquified Petroleum and OSHA Process Safety Management knowledge a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with various priorities. Knowledge of industry safety practices, relevant codes and regulations. Ability to develop and present multiple alternatives to an individual problem or situation. Strong verbal and written communications skills; good organizational and interpersonal skills. Well-developed PC skills. Must be a strong team player. Valid driver’s license required.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Engineer level requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering disciplineand 6-10 years of relevant job related experience
- The Staff Engineer level requires Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant job related experience
- The Principal Engineer level requires Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 12+ years of relevant job related experience with a strong preference for a PE license
- PMP or equivalent training in project management techniques including project scoping and estimating, cost and schedule control systems, design and construction management, project execution plans, team building, resource planning, procurement, and permitting.
- Professional Engineer license a plus
- Ability to work in office and field environment.
- Strong familiarity with the following codes and regulations: USDOT CFR 195 and 192, API, and ASME
Working Conditions:
- Usually, normal office working conditions with field visits scheduled as necessary for project execution.
- Occasional overnight travel is required, when necessary to manage projects.
- Flexibility to manage a broad range of projects with opportunities for work on a broad range of project types, including pipeline, pipeline facility, and terminal projects.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
