Summary:
The Sr. Analyst, Materials Management, position is responsible for reporting and analyzing inventory levels, primarily for critical spare parts. Responsible for managing the Supply Chain budget development, monthly forecasting, invoice processing and general reporting and analytical support for the Materials Management Department. The position also provides backup support for Materials Management and Warehouse Management as needed, including, but not limited to, running reports, obtaining material test reports and certifications for materials, and tracking material shipments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as a liaison between Materials Management and Engineering and Construction for critical spares inventory related to new construction.
- Analyzes inventory levels and consumption history, working closely with subject matter experts to determine appropriate inventory levels for existing and new additions to critical spares inventory.
- Analyze slow moving inventory reports to identify stale, slow moving and obsolete inventory.
- Responsible for initial set up and maintenance of inventory min/max levels, including periodic reviews.
- Analyze loss opportunity reports to identify if relocation of items would increase future utilization.
- Assist with inventory integration associated with acquisitions.
- Assists Warehouse Managers and Coordinators in obtaining MTRs and certifications for incoming/outgoing materials.
- Responsible for Supply Chains departmental budgeting, monthly forecasting and variance reporting.
- Assists Procurement, Operations, Engineering and Construction, Warehouse Managers and Inventory Coordinators in searching for available materials in inventory and recommending appropriate substitutions as necessary.
- Responsible for new additions to the Surplus Equipment Listing residing on the SharePoint site as well as ensuring data is maintained and up to date.
- Following all Safety Procedures and working in a safe manner at all times.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, construction management or business
- 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting or business and some previous experience as a cost analyst.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient organizational, oral and written communication skills required.
- Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to apply judgment, and professionally challenge and question activity and assumptions.
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office software products with a high proficiency in Excel
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience

- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
