Lead Specialist - Food Service Operations
This role is responsible for supporting and managing new revenue-generating food & beverage platforms inside our stores, improving the customer experience and operationalizing the concepts.
- Work with the Sr. Manager of Operations to support the creation and commercialization of new food and beverage offerings.
- Developing end-to-end process for all new and upgraded food and beverage platform tests (including, but not limited to, made-to-order food offerings, Grab and go meal solutions, Coffee / Iced-Coffee, Fountain etc)
- Participate in menu and food development.
- Support national branded accounts.
- Participate in bringing food to the forefront of the design.
- Determining labor model requirements, establishing, equipment requirements, operational protocols, training, determining branding elements, establishing distribution path for all non-existing food and supplies.
- Establishing success criteria, monitoring tests and verifying results. Prepare presentations.
- Staying up-to-date and filtering through the latest trends and innovation that could help improve the customer experience and/or simplify operations; researching and interpreting customer trends to feed into platform development
- Working closely with Food and Prop Bev teams to test and launch new platforms.
- Projects may include (but not limited to) self-serve Roller Grills, Grab and Go hold hot displays and/or new hot and cold dispensed beverage programs.
- Will lead response to verification/analysis to ensure implemented programs exceed targeted metrics such as sales and profit.
- Manage the food safety protocol, Food Compliance Checklist of new programs.
- Develop and manage training programs.
- Work with key vendors and outside consultants such as engineers and architects.
- Ensure timelines for installation, training, communication and verification are met. Obstacle resolution for store implementation issues and service provider accountability.
- Execute the roadmap and lead the QSR experience team's execution by working closely with the Operations, Marketing, Merchandising, IT and a range of strategic partners in a collaborative environment.
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, emphasis in hospitality preferred
- 7+ years of food service operations management
- Experience with training and development of commercialization for new food offerings, preferred
- Provides leadership and recommendations necessary to accomplish business objectives.
- Operate as a high-impact communicator.
- 50%+ travel
- Work with a bias for action and a drive to get things done.
- Self-starter who excels in ambiguous and challenging problems
- Leader who has great ability to influence without authority; highly collaborative with others
- Prior operations, restaurant readiness, food experience a must
- Highly organized and attention to detail; strong executive presence; exceptional communicator; ability to synthesize disparate data and summarize clearly
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
