I&E Technician
The I & E Technician helps create, maintain and repair the electronic components and equipment used in any equipment or device that involves electricity
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- The technician is responsible for a variety of work assignments that involve PLC programming, configuration and troubleshooting as well as the troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing and inspection of low and medium voltage electrical equipment, instrumentation and controls for all areas of the district.
- The nature of the job requires the technician to work with minimal supervision and possess mechanical aptitude.
- The technician must respond to call outs, work scheduled or unscheduled overtime and at times perform additional duties due to operational upsets, construction projects, emergencies and other unusual situations.
- The technician is expected to exhibit professionalism and perform all duties in a safe and proficient manner consistent with policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Required education:
- Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
- Level B requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
- Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
- Moderate to strong PLC experience including programming, Troubleshooting and configuration of Allen - Bradley PLC5, ControLogix and MicroLogix processors.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting and repairing medium and low voltage motor starters, cables, terminations, switchgear and associated protective devices.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting, repair and start-up of motor-operated valve actuators.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting, repair and calibration of a variety of analog, digital and discrete instrumentation including pressure transmitters, pressure switches, flow transmitters, flow switches, temperature sensors/ transmitters and solenoid valves.
- Familiarity with flow computers, orifice plates, positive displacement meters, radar gauges, fiber optics and Ethernet communication equipment is also a plus.
- Associate's degree in electrical/electronics from an accredited college, university or vocational school (e g. AA/AS/AAS/BA/BS/TSD/APP) preferred
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools/instruments necessary to perform electrical/electronic maintenance. Exceptional computer skills
- The Electrical Tech must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment or independently as the workload requires.
- Knowledge of and the ability to utilize National Electric Code, NFPA 70E, local codes, O. S. H. A., D. O. T., and regulations of other federal and state agencies as required by geographical locations. Must be able to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.

- Individual must work toward becoming a Sr. Technician.
- Must have a valid driver s license in good standing and reside within 30-40 miles of the local office.

- Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Driving, walking, standing frequently
- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
