Field Service Technician
Summary:
Sunoco LP (NYSE: SUN) is a master limited partnership with core operations that include the distribution of motor fuel to approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers and distributors located in more than 40 U.S. states and territories as well as refined product transportation, transmix facilities and terminalling assets that Sunoco LP owns and operates to ensure supply and quality standards remain at the highest levels.
- Conduct inspections of retail gasoline stations including dispensing equipment, underground storage tanks and collecting fuel samples
- Assist with investigation of consumer complaints, station product quality incidents and terminal quality issues.
- As needed, perform testing of fuel samples from service stations, Performance Fuels, terminals and consumers.
Responsibility:
- Assist with inspection of stations involved in consumer complaints, suspected quality incidents and regulatory violations requiring up to 80% travel including weekends, holidays and evenings.
- Assist with quality oversight of stations and report major equipment and fuel issues immediately.
- As needed perform fuel analysis utilizing field instrumentation or by submitting samples to third party laboratories.
- Perform service station equipment testing as needed.
- Support internal teams with product quality activities tank flushes, delivery investigations, terminal quality incidents.
Qualifications:
- 5 years’ minimum experience in petroleum retail operations and/or maintenance of service station equipment.
- Working knowledge of fuel properties and safe handling practices along with practical understanding of service station equipment.
- Ability to lift containers weighing up to 50lbs, to handle station equipment, to travel to surrounding states and regions providing needed support.
- Good written and oral communication skills and good computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve.
