Summary:

 

We are seeking a Gas Control SCADA and CRM candidate with a passion for data and enjoys staying on the edge of new technologies.  The ideal candidate has experience with CygNet SCADA systems and CRM as well as knowledge and experience in BI to help diversify our team and modernize our BI landscape.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage changes for the Gas Control Room with the IT SCADA Team

  • Maintain Control Room Management (CRM) procedures and document changes, obtain required approvals, and submit changes

  • Coordinate SCADA integration testing of remote field sites and conduct point-to-point verification

  • Direct contact with field personnel, control center operations, IT support staff, and vendors

  • Business analysis, reports building, and assist in maintaining and developing traditional and modern BI solutions using the MS SQL Server BI stack.

  • Create automated dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, and/or SSRS

  • Ensure requirements are met in accordance with corporate compliance standards

 

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: 

  • Bachelor degree from accredited college/university in computer science or related field or additional equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience with using SCADA systems. CygNet experience a plus but other Automation, EFM Collection, and IT Systems experience will be considered
  • Experience with current PHMSA regulations under 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195 for gas and hazardous liquid pipelines
  • 2 years of experience developing traditional BI solutions within the Microsoft BI stack (MS SQL Server/SSIS/SSAS/SSRS) as well as implementing modern BI Solutions
  • Fluency in MS SQL query language, ability to write stored procedures, views, indexes, etc
  • Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail
 

Preferred Qualifications:

 
  • Gas and/or Liquids pipeline experience preferred with a working knowledge of measurement technologies, controls process automation.
  • Experience in CygNet SCADA system, and its implementation methodology.
  • Solid Microsoft skills with an emphasis in advanced Excel.  Advantages include SQL and Microsoft tools such as PowerBI, Excel PowerPivot, DAX and other Business Intelligence and Reporting tools. 
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 
  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
