Position Summary:

The successful candidate will work in the Sunoco LP Credit Risk Management group reporting to the Senior Manager – Credit Risk Management. The Analyst will be involved in daily credit risk activities, special projects as required, and communication with customers and internal accounting, legal, customer service, and marketing groups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform credit evaluations by analyzing corporate and personal credit reports in order to determine appropriate credit limits and terms
  • Analyze corporate and personal financial statements using different credit scoring models
  • Analyze parent/subsidiary corporate structure to determine responsibility for credit risk and obtain/negotiate parent guaranties as appropriate
  • Determine whether collateral is necessary to reduce credit risk and negotiate collateral appropriate to the risk
  • Maintain approved credit limits, counterparty names, guaranties, letters of credit and credit ratings in credit database
  • Monitor supporting documentation to keep current, such as guaranties, letters of credit, financial statements, and credit reports to reduce ongoing risk
  • Analyze accounts to determine credit holds and sales releases while identifying issues attributing to the account risk.
  • Manage the collections function along with the Associate Analyst and maintain the A/R in accordance with due dates, limits and terms
  • Identify issue attributing to delinquencies and communicate with sales and management to accelerate the collection process
  • Negotiate payment extension with delinquent accounts
  • Maintain relationships with outside legal counsel and third party collection agencies as necessary
  • Ability to interpret and negotiate credit items in contractual agreements
  • Assist with the management of customer relationships
  • Provide information for miscellaneous reports on an ad hoc basis
  • Be a mentor to Associate Analyst
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two to five years of experience in commercial and consumer credit management with financial statement analysis required.
  • Familiarity and experience with credit reporting agencies
  • Experience with credit scoring and risk management systems, models, and metrics
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Strong verbal and written skills necessary
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to think proactively, multi-task, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines with a sense of urgency
