Construction Supervisor (Island of Oahu)

JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides the construction project management for Aloha Petroleum’s (Aloha’s) quality, timely, and cost-effective construction that is completed in a safe manner, including: (i) new/re-build, (ii) remodel; (iii) equipment upgrade, and (iv) reimage projects. The position also includes the responsibility for the applicable Construction capital budget. Furthermore, the position requires construction leadership that maintains competitive excellence with a foundation of customer-centric support.
The results achieved by this position shall establish and maintain the best-in-class construction project completion for Aloha.
JOB DUTIES OUTLINE:
- Review of comprehensive technical and equipment specifications, with emphasis not only on quality, but cost effectiveness
- Development of construction designs, including architectural drawings and site design specifications, with a focus on sales-centricity, value-engineering, and safety.
- Completion of site-specific feasibility studies and engineering designs through property evaluations, testing, and related analyses, which achieve the production of site-specific construction plans and specifications.
- Coordination of licensing and permitting that comply with federal, state and local requirements.
- Supervision of quality, specification and safety control for engineering and specification compliance.
- Maintain technology system for engineering and specification document control.
- Complete fiscal monthly project reporting summarizing engineering and financial achievements, initiatives and metrics.
- Ensure all contractors maintain current contracts specific to their services and/or a unique project.
- Maintain strong rapport and communications with applicable governmental agencies.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Regular office hours
· As specific project or geographic area demands – travel within Oahu and Hawaii’s Neighbor Islands
· Use of laptop computer and other standard office equipment
· Frequent standing, walking, and handling of technical services items. Occasional climbing, stooping and kneeling while at facilities completing inspections.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Project management and budget proficiencies
· Convenience store and technical services industry aptitude
· Innovation skills/aptitude
· Knowledge file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures
· Building mode standards, terminology and construction methods
· Technical knowledge of trades working under supervision
· Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards
· Inspection methods, procedures and record keeping
· Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications, permit requirements, special provisions, memorandums, and test reports
· Identifying nonconforming materials, workmanship, or deviations from plans
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
· Planning and organizing work activities, setting priorities
· Communicating effectively, orally and in writing
· Possession of valid Hawaii motor vehicle operator’s license
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
· Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive construction experience, preferably within the retail fuel and convenience industry
