Summary:
Provides varied and complex management and/or operational analysis, reports, and recommendations in support of Energy Transfer’s gathering and processing asset optimization. Performs various evaluations, controls, and calculations to produce, support, and maintain data system integrity. Integrates and compiles data into quantifiable summaries, models, and forecasts for development, review, and approval of issue action plans. Develops recommendations for actions based on analysis.
This position requires advanced knowledge within a functional area and is often considered an expert in own area of responsibility. Work is performed without appreciable direction and completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Develops technical solutions to highly complex or interrelated problems. This position requires the ability to interpret and adapt theory and concepts into workable solutions. Leads and mentors less experienced professionals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Act as subject matter expert: determine the need for data review and direct analysis, as needed.

Through analysis and expertise, proactively identify problems or challenges and provide strategic solutions to top management.

Anticipate data needs, new and existing, for building capabilities in management and strategic decision-making.

Plan, prioritize, conduct and lead assignments.

Synthesize data and analysis into high-level presentations for management and senior management.

Serve as project or case manager in the development, analysis, presentation, and completion of business projects.

Act as a resource for members with less experience, may direct the technical complexities of work.

Determine type of analysis needed to achieve a goal or result and identify the stakeholders of a project or initiative; may lead or act as lead project team.

Partner with internal network of contacts.

Solve problems and develop solutions that call for original approach based on thorough and comprehensive knowledge and expertise.

Lead in identifying appropriate statistical and modeling procedures, metrics, budgetary requirements, and information requirements for Company.

Apply best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve processes or services.

Serve as a source of expertise on reporting systems and data sources.

Leads and mentors less experienced analysts.

Take action in a self-directed manner to identify issues and make recommendations to department leadership.
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Eight (8) years’ directly related experience.
- MBA or other professional certificates/advanced degrees, particularly related to mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or quantitative disciplines are preferred.
- Energy industry experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Recognized expert in area of specialization.
- Create, utilize, and analyze complex economic and probability models that require an understanding of the natural gas midstream business (gathering, compression, processing, transportation, etc.), to produce results used by operations to make effective production optimization decisions.
- Strong quantitative modeling skills.
- Strong ability to use linear and/or non-linear programming techniques to solve optimization problems.
- Comprehensive understanding of statistical modeling and simulation.
- Comprehensive understanding of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, probabilities, statistical tests etc.)
- Comprehensive understanding of one or more programming languages (SQL, Python, R etc.) to extract and manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Proficient in computer applications, databases, and reporting software (Excel, Access, Word, VBA, Business Objects, QlikView, Power BI, Tableau).
- Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
- Strong analytical skills and experience; ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems.
- Ability to discern data inaccuracies through technical experience and knowledge.
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
- Strong collaboration skills in order to partner effectively across various levels of the organization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
